    David Abraham, Creative Director, Abraham & Thakore

    One of India’s leading resources for fashion and textiles. A graduate of the National Institute of Design, he is interested in exploring contemporary expressions of traditional Indian craft and in developing a design vocabulary that is restrained yet diverse. His practice is closely concerned with the role of identity in fashion, particularly in contemporary India. Abraham & Thakore collections are retailed in India and overseas. Their designs have been acquired by the Victoria & Albert Museum in London for their permanent archives and have been displayed in multiple exhibitions on contemporary Indian design around the world. A member of the Board of Governors of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), David Abraham is also a member of the Governing Council of the India Design Council (IDC).

    Feisal Alkazi, Educationist, Social Activist, Master Trainer and Theatre Director

    Feisal Alkazi lives and works in New Delhi and is the son of the legendary Indian theatre director and drama teacher Ebrahim Alkazi. He has over the past 40 years carved out a niche for himself in the Indian theatre scene chiefly with the group - Ruchika. He has directed 200 plays and has also extensively worked in the area of children’s theatre. Feisal has directed 32 documentaries and short-films. Among other awards, in 1987 he was given the Sanskriti Award for outstanding contribution to the theatre.

    Malvika Singh, Publisher, Seminar

    A prestigious monthly magazine of ideas and alternatives founded in 1959. Mala is a full time member of Chief Minister’s advisory council, Government of Rajasthan. Mala has written numerous books such as Perpetual City: A Short Biography of Delhi, Bhutan: Through the Lens of the King, New Delhi: Making of a Capital, Delhi: India in One City and Snowdon’s India. She edited Delhi: The First City; Chennai: A City of Change; Hyderabad: A City of Hope; Kolkata: A Soul City; Lucknow: A City Between Cultures; Mumbai: A City of Dreams. She has also worked in theatre and film, and was decorated as a Dame in the civil merit honours list of the King of Spain in 2009.

    Mita Kapur, Founder and CEO of Siyahi

    Siyahi is India’s leading literary consultancy. Mita also conceptualises and produces literary festivals and events. Her first book, The F-Word, is a food book, memoir and travelogue. She has edited Chillies and Porridge: Writing Food, an anthology of essays on food. As a freelance journalist, she writes regularly for different newspapers and magazines on social and development issues along with travel, food and lifestyle.

    Mitchell S. Crites, Art Historian

    Mitchell S. Crites, an American art historian, has lived, researched and worked in India and across the Islamic world for more than 45 years. His primary focus has been the revival of traditional South Asian and Islamic arts and crafts. Over the years, he has coordinated a number of prestigious art and architectural projects including the restoration of the historic Jal Mahal Water Palace in Jaipur. These projects have given work to more than eight thousand master artists, carvers, inlay artisans and calligraphers. Crites writes and lectures regularly on the revival of traditional arts and crafts. He also serves as senior cultural advisor to the Turquoise Mountain Institute in Kabul for the revival of traditional Afghan arts and crafts.

    Pramod Kumar KG, Managing Director, Eka

    Pramod was the founder director of the Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing at Amber, Jaipur, directed the Jaipur Virasat Foundation and instituted the Jaipur Literature Festival. He is currently co-director of Mountain Echoes, the Bhutan Literature Festival. He has lectured extensively across the world and is a published author with contributions in several books, journals and magazines. Until recently he was the editor from India of the Textiles Asia journal.

    An entrepreneur of the arts, Sanjoy is the Managing Director of Teamwork Arts with offices in Boulder, Cairo, Chicago, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, London, New Delhi, Singapore and Sydney. Sanjoy has directed and produced over 1000 hours of a wide range of films and television shows, including drama series, game shows, newsmagazines, and lifestyle programmes.

    Sharmila Tagore, Actor

    Sharmila Tagore is known for her works predominantly in Hindi cinema. She has received two National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards for her performances. She led the Indian Film Censor Board from October 2004 till March 2011. In December 2005 she was chosen as an UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. She was one of the International Competition's Jury Members at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. In 2013, she was awarded Padma Bhushan by the Government of India.

    Shekhar Kapur is known for his works in Hindi cinema. He became known in Bollywood with his directorial debut in the cult Bollywood film Masoom in 1983, which won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Movie for that year. He gained international recognition with film Bandit Queen, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. His historical biopics on Queen Elizabeth and Elizabeth: The Golden Age won the BAFTA Award for Best Film and two Academy Awards. He has been the recipient of the Indian National Film Award, the BAFTA Award and three Filmfare Awards. In 2010, he served as one of the Jury Members at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival.

    After spending 9 years in banking, Sid Mathur left his job as Vice President, Citi Private Bank, London to pursue his passion of all things food. Returning to India, he joined Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt Ltd as a Director, and Head of Food for the group, which today has over 45 restaurants across 14 cities. Some of these include multi award winning concepts like Social & Smoke House Deli. Through his independent food & lifestyle consultancy firm, Secret Ingredient, Sid is also a food advisor to various businesses, including Select Citywalk, British School, Swiggy, Krispy Kreme and the CG Group. Sid is also the founder of Khoya Mithai, and Co-Founder of Asian Hawkers Market.
