NDTV-Deakin Scholarship 2016: Meet The Winners Of Undergraduate Scholarships

The NDTV-Deakin scholarship last year received a tremendous response from students all across the country. And this year, with four 100% tuition fee scholarships on offer, the response was even better. Two undergraduate and one post graduate scholarships and two meritorious, students will take home. From thousands of applications, 15 shortlisted students were here to try their luck. Watch an action packed day unfold as we announce the lucky winners.

About The Scholarship

NDTV has been a pioneer in the Indian TV journalism space and has often leveraged the power of its reach to bring about positive changes in society and to solve real world problems through dedicated and innovative programing.

Deakin, one of Australia’s most progressive University, has initiated a campaign called “Changing 100 Lives” which aims to enable students to access, participate and achieve a higher education regardless of their location, socio-economic status or family situation.

As natural partners towards a common cause, of "Changing Lives", the NDTV Deakin Scholarship Program was launched in April 2015 to offer one 100% tuition fee scholarship to a deserving candidate for enrolment for onshore studies at Deakin University in Australia. 2016 promised to be bigger and better and saw four meritorious students win 100% tuition fee scholarships. In its 3rd year now, we are offering two scholarships each for under graduate or postgraduate level studies.

The objective of the NDTV Deakin Scholarship is to identify deserving students with meritorious academic history and holistic achievements and to offer them a chance to enroll for on-shore graduate or post graduate programs at Deakin University, Australia, with the view of giving back to India the skills and experience it needs in various areas.

PG Scholarship 2016 Winner

The proud winner of the first round of the NDTV-Deakin Scholarship 2016 is Arvind Sreenivas from Chennai. Arvind is an engineer, an off-Spinner, an athlete agent, a sports marketer and a merchandising expert. After his high schooling from Chennai, he completed his undergraduate studies in engineering from VIT University.

Arvind’s has enrolled to study Master of Business (Sport Management) at Deakin University which is not only one of the best ranked sports management degree in Australia but also the longest running program with a very strong advisory board and massive industry links.
