One in every three girls who were married in their childhood lives in India. Child marriage robs little girls of their childhood, dignity and rights. Legal action through court injunctions, a provision that existed in law but was rarely invoked earlier is being hailed as a major step towards stopping child marriages. Last year, an impending child marriage was stopped in Udaipur and two young lives protected by invoking the injunction order.
