The cabinet reshuffle saw four ministers being promoted for acing their current assessments. Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State Petroleum & Natural Gas; Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State, Commerce & Industry; Piyush Goyal, Minister of State for Power, and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs took oath for there new positions in the PM Modi's cabinet.

Hardeep Singh Puri, a 1974-batch of Indian Foreign Service, who served as India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2009 to 2013, took oath as a new minister in the cabinet.

Ananthkumar Hedge, 49, was sworn-in as new minister as part of the cabinet reshuffle. He has been a member of the 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th and 16th Lok Sabha from Uttara Kannada in Karnataka.

Virendra Kumar, 63, a Lok Sabha MP from Tikamgarh in Madhya Pradesh, takes oath.

Raj Kumar Singh, 64, sworn-in as Minister of State. He is a member of the current Lok Sabha representing Arrah in Bihar.

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, 49, a Lok Sabha member from Jodhpur, Rajasthan and national general secretary of the farmers' wing of the BJP takes oath.

Satya Pal Singh, 61, a Lok Sabha MP from Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, is one of the nine new faces inducted in Prime Narendra Modi's cabinet. He took oath as a minister of state. Mr Singh is a 1980 batch Maharashtra cadre IPS officer and retired as the Mumbai Police chief.

KJ Alphons, a former IAS officer, sworn-in as new minister in cabinet reshuffle. He is a member of the committee set up to prepare the final draft of the National Education Policy, 2017.

64-year-old Ashwini Kumar Choubey joins the cabinet as a Minister of State. At present, Mr Choubey represents the Buxar Lok Sabha seat.

65-year-old Shiv Pratap Shukla, a Rajya Sabha member from Uttar Pradesh, takes oath.
