IPL 2022: Gujarat Titans on Friday lifted their maiden Indian Premier League title after beating Rajasthan Royals in the final by 7 wickets in Ahmedabad.
Jos Buttler came into the IPL final after smashing his fourth century of the season in Qualifier 2. The Englishman, however, did not have the same impact. He top-scored for RR with a 35-ball 39.
Hardik Pandya starred with an all-round performance as GT lifted their maiden IPL title. After taking three for 17, the GT skipper scored a 30-ball 34 with the bat.
R Sai Kishore repaid the trust the management showed in him throughout the season. The youngster ended the game with the figures of two for 20 in two overs.
Shubman Gill showed great composure after GT had lost two early wickets in the chase. He scored an unbeaten 43-ball 45 and took GT home with 11 balls to spare.
Yuzvendra Chahal took one wicket to take his tally to 27 wickets this season. The spinner ends the season as the Purple Cap winner for the first time in his career.
One of the top performers for GT throughout the season David Miller played a counter-attacking knock of 32 off just 19 balls. He ends the season as the second-highest run-scorer for GT behind Hardik.
