IPL 2023: Here Are Some Glimpse Of 1000th Match Of The Cash-Rich League

Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bat against Mumbai Indians in the 1000th IPL match on Sunday.

Immediately after the toss, a small ceremony was conducted where MI skipper Rohit Sharma and RR skipper Sanju Samson, along with 2008 IPL stars Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara were felicitated.

After opting to bat first, RR posted a huge total of 212/7 in 20 overs, courtesy of a blistering 124-run knock from youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal.

MI lost some wickets in the early stages of the chase but came back on track after Suryakumar Yadav smashed 55 off just 29 balls.

With 17 needed off the last over, Tim David came to the rescue and smashed three consecutive sixes off Jason Holder's delivery and took MI across the line with three balls to spare.

With this six-wicket win over RR, MI have registered their fourth win of the season and jumped to the seventh spot on the points table.
