It was Spaniard Koke who broke the deadlock in the 45th minute with a well-connected half-volley from just inside the box.
Kerala Blasters upped the ante in the second passage of play but failed to find the back of the net.
Kerala Blasters came agonosingly close to draw level in the 83rd minute but just couldn't score the equaliser and lost 1-0 in the end.
