Long Queues, Brisk Polling in First Phase of J&K Assembly Elections

For the first time in 25 years, people ignored a boycott call by separatists to line up in large numbers to vote in the first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections on Tuesday.

With long queues and brisk polling through the day, Jammu and Kashmir saw a voter turnout of 70 per cent.
