PM Modi-Hasina Meet, Aarey Protests And Other Big Stories
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's bilateral meet with his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina was taken as the lead story in most of the newspapers today. However, the Sunday Times edition of Times Of India featured cutting of trees in Mumbai' Aarey as the lead story. The Telegraph was the only one to give a half-page coverage to the death of a 17-year-old Kashmiri boy who reportedly lost his life while trying to flee security forces in Kashmir.
The Hindustan Times published India-Bangladesh meet as its lead with headline "India, B'desh vow to boost ties, step up coast security". The newspaper reported that New Delhi and Dhaka have agreed upon a slew of projects including "joint coastal surveillance radar system and a project for bulk import of cooking gas to Tripura, aimed at elevating bilateral ties to an 'irreversible partnership' based on enhanced connectivity and trade."
