Currently, there are 1,19,457 active cases in the country, comprising 0.27 per cent of the cumulative case count. The recovery rate stands at 98.52 per cent. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.32 per cent.
Over 198 crore doses of the coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the country so far, the Co-WIN dashboard showed.
Meanwhile, the WHO said that a new sub-lineage BA.2.75 of the Omicron variant has been detected in India and other countries.

Kerala Records 3,310 New Covid Cases, 19 Related Deaths
Kerala registered 3,310 new coronavirus cases and 19 related deaths on Thursday, pushing the total number of Covid cases in the state to 66,66,959 and the number of casualties to 70,108.
Mumbai Registers 540 New Covid Cases, 2 Deaths
Mumbai on Thursday reported 540 new coronavirus cases, down by 155 from a day ago, while two more patients died due to the infection, the city civic body said.
With these additions, the overall COVID-19 cases rose to 11,17,367, while casualties jumped to 19,622, said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in a bulletin.
The city's positivity rate, or cases detected per 100 tests, stood at 5.43 per cent.
Delhi Records 579 New COVID-19 Cases, One Death
Delhi on Thursday recorded 579 new COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 3.46 per cent, while one more person dieing due to to the viral disease, according to health department data.
With the new infections and casualties, Delhi's caseload climbed to 19,39,227 and the number of deaths increased to 26,277, the health department bulletin said.
The new cases came out of 16,755 tests conducted the previous day, it said.
On Wednesday, Delhi recorded 600 COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 3.27 per cent and one death.
Tamil Nadu Registers 2,765 New Covid Cases, 1 Death
Tamil Nadu reported 2,765 new Covid cases and one death on Thursday, taking the state-wide numbers to 34.93 lakh and casualties to 38,028.
An 80-year-old male who tested positive for coronavirus on June 24 succumbed at the government health facility in Tiruvarur due to comorbidities.
"He had type 2 Diabetes Mellitus / Systemic Hypertension and was admitted to the Tiruvarur Medical College Hospital on June 25 with complaints of fever, cough, breathlessness, joint pain and Myalgia," a bulletin from the State health department said.
The patient died on July 6 at 9:30 am due to clinical Covid Pneumonia, Interstitial lung disease, Diabetes and hypertension, it said.
The active cases increased to 18,378 from 17,717 recorded on Wednesday.
Puducherry Sees Fall In Daily COVID-19 Cases
Puducherry witnessed a dip in the number of daily COVID-19 cases with 123 new cases being reported on Thursday.
The union territory registered 168 cases on Wednesday.
Director of Health G Sriramulu in a bulletin said the Health Department tested 2,355 samples in the last 24 hours and 123 cases surfaced during evaluation.

Assam has recorded 196 fresh COVID-19 cases, which took the tally to 7,25,677, the National Health Mission (NHM) said in a bulletin. The NHM said 74 new cases were found from the Kamrup Metropolitan district, comprising Guwahati city, followed by 30 from Kamrup and 20 from Dibrugarh. No death due to the infection was recorded in the last 24 hours, the bulletin said. Assam now has 956 active cases.
Assam Logs 196 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
Assam has recorded 196 fresh COVID-19 cases, which took the tally to 7,25,677, the National Health Mission (NHM) said in a bulletin.
At least 196 coronavirus patients were detected across the state from 1,758 sample tests on Wednesday with a positivity rate of 11.15 per cent, it said.
The NHM said 74 new cases were found from the Kamrup Metropolitan district, comprising Guwahati city, followed by 30 from Kamrup and 20 from Dibrugarh.
No death due to the infection was recorded in the last 24 hours, the bulletin said.
With a total of 7,25,677 COVID-19 cases in Assam, the overall positivity rate stands at 2.56 per cent. More than 2.84 crore sample tests for the infection have been conducted. Altogether 7,16,733 COVID-19 patients have so far recovered from the disease and have been discharged from various hospitals and COVID care centres.
Assam now has 956 active patients, and many of them are being treated at different hospitals and CCCs across the state while several are undergoing home isolation.
The NHM also said over 4.67 crore doses of vaccines, including 7,29,700 precaution jabs, have been administered to eligible beneficiaries.
358 New COVID-19 Cases In Maharashtra's Thane In 24 Hours; Active Tally At 3,455
Maharashtra's Thane district has reported 358 new COVID-19 cases, raising its infection tally to 7,30,427, a health official said today.
With the addition of the latest cases on Wednesday, the district currently has 3,455 active COVID-19 cases, he said.
The COVID-19 death toll in the district remained unchanged at 11,909, and the recovery count has reached 7,14,704, the official added.
