After months of non-stop requests for plasma on social media and through NGOs, the therapy has been removed from ICMR's recommended treatment protocol because it does not improve survival or other clinical outcomes. Plasma therapy has been contentious for the past year, and multiple studies in India and abroad question is effectiveness.
