Deepinder Goyal Awarded 'Entrepreneur Of The Year': "Why Zomato Rolled Back Veg Fleet" | NDTV Indian Of The Year Awards

Zomato co-founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal was awarded the 'Entrepreneur of the Year' by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at the NDTV Indian Of The Year Awards. When asked about the recent Zomato Veg fleet controversy, Mr Deepinder said, "We conducted a survey and the result we received was, that people would order more if there were veg fleets. The way we grew up, none of us knew the historical context of it so we were indifferent to it. But when we got the feedback, we understood and made the change".

About The Awards

Since 2003, when NDTV launched the first ever Indian of the Year, the event has become synonymous with recognizing those Indians – individuals, organizations and institutions – who have contributed to the idea and identity of India in one way or the other, whose contributions to the country have strengthened the foundation of our society.

The awards have recognized the unsung hero in the same breath as the most celebrated – our focus has always been on the extraordinary work. It is to honor extraordinary work that we gather once again to celebrate the Indian of the Year - 2024.
