Rahul Gandhi was not physically present during crucial negotiations to select a Presidential candidate, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia admitted to NDTV today in an interview. But he dismissed the suggestion that this amounts to a leadership failure. The opposition has been criticised for a delayed announcement of its candidate, Meira Kumar, three days after the ruling NDA had announced Ram Nath Kovind as their choice, gaining the upper hand.
