शिवसेना ने शुक्रवार को कहा कि अगर भाजपा आरएसएस प्रमुख मोहन भागवत को राष्ट्रपति बनाने के लिए तैयार नहीं होती है तो वह जाने-माने कृषि वैज्ञानिक एम एस स्वामीनाथन के नाम की सिफारिश सर्वोच्च पद के लिए करेगी. शिवसेना भाजपा की सबसे पुरानी सहयोगी है. वह लगातार अगले राष्ट्रपति के लिए मोहन भागवत के नाम की वकालत कर रही है. शिवसेना ने अपने रुख में बदलाव कर लिया जब आरएसएस प्रमुख ने हाल में देश का संवैधानिक प्रमुख बनने से इनकार कर दिया. 66 वर्षीय भागवत ने हाल में कहा था कि उनकी राष्ट्रपति पद में दिलचस्पी नहीं है.

The BJP has called the NDA's candidate Ram Nath Kovind's win in the presidential election a truly historic win. But the former governor who will become the country's second Dalit President may not be the only one setting records.

A total of 77 votes were declared invalid today during counting for the presidential election and the list of rejected ballots was topped by parliamentarians.
