Far from the national spotlight, a motorcycle rally to raise public awareness in some of the most backward areas of Jharkhand, harping on the need of getting children enrolled in schools to protect them from being sucked into the vicious cycle of child labour, exploitation and abuse and connecting the poor and socio-economically marginalised population with the government's social security schemes. The rally, spearheaded by child activists and volunteers of Bal Mitra Gram or Child Friendly Village programme of the Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation (KSCF) crisscrossed through multiple villages. Placards held up by children echoed the rally objective loud and clear:
"If you make kids work, you will go straight to jail!"
"Every child has a right - the right to play, to food, to education and love!!"
"Kailash Satyarthi's dream... A child-friendly society!!"
