

Negotiations on a bilateral investment protection pact will figure prominently during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with Switzerland's President Alain Berset in Davos next week, the Swiss government has said.
This will be the first participation by an Indian prime minister in the WEF in over the past two decades. In 1997, the then prime minister H D Deve Gowda had attended the Davos summit.
The Davos paper said Trump's administration believed "unfair" trade had led to large trade deficits and job losses, but policies based on such thinking could end up harming the people they aimed to help.
