Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis leaves for the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday morning. This will be his first foreign tour after taking over as Chief Minister of Maharashtra last year.
Mr Fadnavis will have the company of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Power and Coal Minister Piyush Goyal and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Speaking exclusively to NDTV ahead of his departure, Mr. Fadnavis said, "I'll be speaking on two major issues. One is food security and the other is biotechnology. There are a host of sessions where I'll be participating but on these two issues I'll deliberate more. There'll be an India Round Table and I'll also speak there." (Watch)
Speaking of the investment climate in India and specifically Maharashtra, Mr. Fadnavis added, "I think that message has gone down well. People know that the climate in India has changed. I'll be there to tell people that the climate in India has changed but the climate in Maharashtra has changed more. So come to Maharashtra."
Among the leaders attending the summit are US Secretary of State John Kerry, Former PM of Britain Tony Blair, President of France Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Renzi.
The World Economic Forum was established in 1971 as a not-for-profit foundation and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. It engages political, business, academic and other leaders of society in collaborative efforts to shape global, regional and industry agendas.
