India Covid Highlights: India's active caseload stands at 0.26 per cent.
India on Monday saw a slight decline in the Covid cases as it reported 14,917 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours with its active caseload standing at 1,17,508, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed.
An increase of 647 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The toll has climbed to 5,27,069 with 32 fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The Ministry informed that the active caseload of the country stood at 0.27 per cent while its recovery rate was 98.54 per cent.

Telangana Logs 265 New COVID-19 Cases
Telangana on Monday recorded 265 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 8,29,467.
Hyderabad district saw the highest number of cases with 142.
A health department bulletin said 528 people recuperated from the infection and the cumulative number of recoveries till date was 8,22,173.
The recovery rate stood at 99.12 per cent.
No fresh fatality occurred due to the infectious disease and the death count continued to be 4,111.
The number of active cases was 3,183.
Chhattisgarh Reports 48 COVID-19 Cases, One Death
Chhattisgarh on Monday reported 48 COVID-19 cases at a positivity rate of 2.77 per cent, taking the tally to 11,70,909, while the death count increased by one to reach 14,091, an official said.
The recovery count stood at 11,55,276 after 351 people were discharged during the day, leaving the state with 1,542 active cases, he said.
"Raigarh led with eight cases, followed by seven in Korba, six in Raipur, five in Rajnandgaon, three in Bilaspur and two in Durg, among other districts. No coronavirus case was reported in 13 districts," he said.
West Bengal Records 270 New Covid Cases
West Bengal's COVID-19 tally rose to 21,02,757 on Monday as 270 more people tested positive for the infection, 209 fewer than the previous day, a health bulletin said.
The death count remained unchanged at 21,422 as no fresh fatality was recorded.
The state had reported 479 cases and two deaths on Sunday.
There are now has 5,299 active cases, of whom 151 are hospitalised, while 658 more people were cured of the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 20,76,036.
A total of 13,653 people received vaccine jabs on Monday.
Delhi Logs 1,227 New COVID-19 Cases, 8 Deaths
Delhi on Monday reported 1,227 new COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 14.57 per cent, while eight more people died due to the disease, according to data shared by the city health department.
Before this, the city logged more than 2,000 cases daily for 12 consecutive days. Delhi on Sunday reported 2,162 COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 12.64 per cent, and five fatalities.
There are 7,519 active COVID-19 cases in the city. As many as 5,760 patients are in home isolation, the bulletin said.
Of the 9,416 beds reserved for COVID-19 patients in various Delhi hospitals, 594 were occupied on Monday. Beds at Covid care centres and Covid health centres were lying vacant, it said.
There are 335 containment zones in the city, it added.
Madhya Pradesh Reports 110 COVID-19 Cases
The COVID-19 tally in Madhya Pradesh reached 10,52,310 on Monday after the detection of 110 cases, while the death count remained unchanged at 10,763, a health official said.
The positivity rate, or cases detected per 100 tests, stood at 1.9 per cent, he added.
The recovery count increased by 162 and touched 10,40,700, leaving the state with 847 active cases, the official informed.
A government release said 12,66,73,721 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far in the state, including 576 on Monday.
Active COVID-19 Cases Continue To Dip In Tamil Nadu
New daily COVID-19 cases as well as the active infections in Tamil Nadu continued to dip on Monday. While the State reported 703 new cases today, the active cases dropped to 7,145, according to a government bulletin.
The active cases on Sunday stood at 7,406.
As many as 964 people were cured of the virus, pushing the overall recoveries to 35,14,313.
Total cases so far were 35,59,491.
There were no virus-related deaths, the bulletin said.
Chennai logged the maximum of 132 new cases on Monday, followed by Coimbatore at 89 and Chengalpet (51)
Gujarat Logs 290 COVID-19 Cases, 2 Deaths
Gujarat on Monday reported 290 COVID-19 cases and two deaths, which raised the tally to 12,65,743 and toll to 10,993, a state health department official said.
The addition to the tally was a significant drop from the 599 cases registered a day ago, he pointed out.
The recovery count rose by 635 and touched 12,51,031, leaving the state with 3,719 active cases, he said.
The two deaths took place in Ahmedabad, which also accounted for 105 of the new cases, followed by 42 in Vadodara, 29 in Surat, among other districts, he said.
A government release said 58,975 people got COVID-19 vaccine jabs on Monday, which took the overall number of doses administered in the state to 12 crore.
273 Covid Cases, 2 Fatalities Reported In Jammu And Kashmir
Jammu and Kashmir recorded 273 fresh Covid cases on Monday that pushed the infection tally to 4,74,055, while two more fatalities took the death count to 4,779, officials said.
Of the new cases, 34 were reported from Jammu division and 239 from the Kashmir valley, they said.
There are 4,154 active cases while the overall recoveries has reached 4,65,122, officials said.
There were 51 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus), they added.
Nagaland Reports One New COVID-19 Case
Nagaland on Monday reported one fresh COVID-19 case, three less than the previous day, pushing the tally to 35,871, a health department official said.
The COVID-19 death count rose to 776 as one more person succumbed to the disease in Kohima, he said.
The state currently has 36 active COVID-19 cases, while 33,551 people have recovered from the disease and 1,508 patients have migrated to other states, the official said.
A total of 17,11,174 coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the state till Saturday, the official added.
Mumbai Logs 584 New COVID-19 Cases
Mumbai on Monday reported 584 COVID-19 cases, which took the tally to 11,33,172, while the death count stood unchanged at 19,664, a civic official said.
This is a drop from the 882 cases and one death recorded on Sunday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official pointed out.
Of the new cases, 522 are asymptomatic, he added.
The recovery count increased by 407 in the last 24 hours to touch 11,08,290, which left the metropolis with an active caseload of 5,218, the official said.
BMC data showed the recovery rate was 97.8 per cent and the growth rate of cases between August 8 and 14 stood at 0.062 per cent.
Maharashtra Records 1,189 COVID-19 Cases, 1 Death
Maharashtra on Monday recorded 1,189 COVID-19 cases and one fatality, which took the state's tally to 80,73,529 and the toll to 1,48,172, a health department official said.
A day earlier, the state had seen 2,082 cases and three deaths.
Mumbai accounted for 584 of the new cases, while the lone death took place in Panvel Municipal Corporation limits in the Raigad district, the official said.
So far, 79,13,209 persons have recovered, including 1,142 in the last 24 hours, leaving the state with 12,148 active cases, he said.
State health department data showed the recovery rate was 98.01 per cent and the fatality rate was 1.83 per cent.
Ladakh Logs 3 New Covid Cases
Ladakh has reported three new cases of Coronavirus, thereby increasing the COVID-19 tally to 29,065, while 21 patients were cured and discharged from the hospital, officials said on Monday.
All positive cases were reported in Leh.
So far, 228 people have succumbed to Covid in Ladakh. Of these, 168 deaths were reported from Leh and 60 from Kargil, according to the officials.
While the number of active COVID-19 cases has come down to 73 in Ladakh.
The total number of Covid recoveries stands at 28,765, the officials said.
Phase III Trials Of COVID-19 Intranasal Vaccine Over, Proven Safe
Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL) on Monday said its
COVID-19 intranasal vaccine (BBV154) has proven to be safe, well-tolerated, and immunogenic in subjects in controlled clinical trials phase III, reports news agency PTI.
The vaccine candidate was evaluated earlier in phase I and II clinical trials with successful results. BBV154 has been specifically formulated to allow intranasal delivery. In addition, the nasal delivery system has been designed and developed to be cost-effective in low and middle-income countries, a press release from the vaccine maker said.
BBV154 was developed in partnership with Washington University St Louis, which had designed and developed the recombinant adenoviral vectored constructs and evaluated them in preclinical studies for efficacy.
The Centre partially funded product development and clinical trials through the Department of Biotechnology's, COVID Suraksha programme.
Two separate and simultaneous clinical trials were conducted to evaluate BBV154 as a primary dose (2-dose) schedule and a heterologous booster dose for subjects who have previously received 2 doses of the two commonly administered Covid vaccines in India.
No New Covid Cases Reported In Andaman And Nicobar Islands
The COVID-19 tally of Andaman and Nicobar Islands remained unchanged at 10,514 as no new infection was reported on Monday, a health bulletin said.
The Union territory now has 18 active cases, while 10,367 people have recovered from the disease so far, including six in the last 24 hours.
A total of 129 patients have succumbed to the infection to date.
Odisha Reports 381 New Covid Cases, 1 Death
Odisha's COVID-19 tally rose to 13,23,052 on Monday as 381 more people, including 84 children, tested positive for the infection, a health bulletin said.
The COVID-19 death toll rose to 9,156 as a 55-year-old woman died in Rayagada. Fifty-three other patients have died due to comorbidities so far, the health department said.
The state had logged 488 infections and a fatality on Monday.
One-Day Recoveries Surpass Fresh Cases In Arunachal
Single-day recoveries outnumbered fresh COVID-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh on Monday as 21 more people recuperated from the disease and six new infections were reported, a senior health official said.
The caseload in the northeastern state rose to 66,402 while, 65,925 people have been cured of the disease, he said.
The toll remained unchanged at 296 as no new fatality due to the infection was recorded in the last 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
Among the new cases, two were reported from the Capital Complex Region and one each from Changlang, Lower Siang, Shi Yomi and Tawang districts, the official said.
Arunachal Pradesh currently has 181 active cases, the SSO said.

Thane Records 332 New Cases, 1 Death
Maharashtra's Thane district has recorded 332 new COVID-19 cases, taking its infection count to 7,36,894, a health official said on Monday.
With the addition of the latest cases on Sunday, the district currently has 1,446 active cases, he said.
One death was also reported on Sunday, which raised the toll in Thane to 11,938, he said.
The count of recoveries has reached 7,23,932, he added.
India Reports 14,917 Cases, 32 Deaths
With 14,917 new coronavirus infections being reported in a day, India's case tally rose to 4,42,68,381, while the active cases increased to 1,17,508, according to data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Monday.
The toll has climbed to 5,27,069 with 32 fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated. In the latest figure, Kerala has reconciled four earlier fatalities.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 7.52 per cent. The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 4.65 per cent, according to the ministry.
The active cases account for 0.27 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.54 per cent, the ministry said.
