PETA Brings Robotics and Wildlife SOS Brings Modern Medical Intervention to Help Elephants in India

Across India, elephants have spent generations in chains, for tourist rides, performances, in temples and in noisy processions. But that story is starting to change.

@Wildlife SOS is helping injured and exploited elephants return to health through its veterinarians, caretakers and dedicated elephant care facilities.

At the same time, @PETA India is using humane innovations to help communities honour tradition without harm. Life-sized mechanical elephants now participate in temple ceremonies, and Ellie - a realistic, animatronic talking elephant visits schools to teach empathy. These solutions mean real elephants can stay in forests with their families, heal, and live in peace. From faith leaders to classrooms, from sanctuaries to temples, a quiet movement is turning into a national shift toward compassion.

Watch this powerful story on @The Changemakers, Season 5, only on @NDTV

PS: Wildlife SOS Elephant Sanctuary in Mathura operates independently and does not receive funding from PETA for the care of the rescued elephants in their care and protection.
