India is on the UK's red list for entry - which means that our students need to pay 1,750 pounds, that's Rs 1,81,000 for a compulsory 10-day government-mandated quarantine in a hotel facility when they land in the United Kingdom. When NDTV put forth the plight of these students, Adar Poonawalla who saw the broadcast decided to step in. Now, with Adar Poonawalla's personal donation of Rs 10 crore, there is a plan in place to ensure that the expenses of Indian students towards quarantine in the UK are covered. The implementation for the collection will be done by Ketto and utilisation of donations by the NGO Sanmat.
