The COVID-19 pandemic sent the Premier League into a deep freeze for over 100 days as no matches were held between March 10 and June 17, 2020.

Liverpool were crowned league champions after 30 years on June 26 after Chelsea's 2-1 win over Manchester City.

Jamie Vardy of Leicester City finished as the top scorer in the 2019-20 season with 23 goals.

Kevin de Bruyne of Manchester City finished with the most assists (20) in the 2019-20 season. He was chosen Player of the Season.

Manchester City, despite finishing second in the 2019-20 league, scored the most goals, 102, comfortably clear of champions Liverpool (85).

Jurgen Klopp, who as manager led Liverpool to their first top-flight title in 30 years, was chosen as the Manager of the Season.

The 2020-21 season began on September 12 albeit behind closed doors. Liverpool registered a 4-3 win over Leeds to kick off their title defence.

Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur entered the 150-goal club with his winner against West Brom in November.

Fans returned to the Premier League for the first time since March in December when West Brom hosted Manchester United.

Table-toppers Tottenham Hotspur are locked in a tight contest with Leicester City, Liverpool, Southampton and Chelsea as the 2020-21 season gets past the early stages.
