This year's US Open was the first men's singles Major event since 2004 to not feature the big-three -- Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Djokovic -- in the quarter-finals. While Federer and Nadal didn't take part in the tournament, Djokovic was disqualified from the event for hitting a ball at line judge.
