To be the leader in its field, the Public Art Fund brings dynamic contemporary art to a broad audience in India and beyond by mounting ambitious free exhibitions of international scope and impact that offer the public powerful experiences with art and the environment.
Each year, submissions will be accepted by a council board for projects dealing with different elements of urban and rural decay. From infrastructure and irrigation to deforestation and conservation, etc., submissions will address these issues through any number of artistic disciplines keeping in mind, form, function, and aesthetic at the root of the process while ameliorating the incorporated area as their canvas as well as educating and engaging the public on a number of social, political and environmental issues.
The Public Art Fund will be a not-for-profit organization that creates socially engaging, multidisciplinary art exhibitions and programming that encourage social dialogue, education, and systemic change for cultural tolerance.
This mission is achieved through rotating public exhibitions of collaborative interactive programs in vacant and neglected spaces in cities around the country. We strongly believe that there is a symbiotic relationship between artists, communities, and social discourse. Our goal is to foster socially and politically inspired artists in an ongoing residency program; to curate thought-provoking and culturally relevant exhibitions; and to create exciting, engaging, and inclusive community programs around art and social change.
Know about the Art Spectrum Awards, which will focus on the essence of the core values of the festival itself – arts education, interdisciplinary awareness and progress, and overall excellence in the arts.
