Issues related to crypto assets require immediate attention and the response of the G20 has to ensure that they do not lose any potential benefits while "protecting economies from harm", Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said.

Members of the G20 agree that a globally coordinated understanding would be required not only to deal with the challenges posed by crypto assets but also to regulate them, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday said that there was a greater acceptance among Group of 20 (G20) member countries that any new regulations on the crypto assets need to be globally coordinated.
