India's per capita emissions are 2.19 tonnes per year and the world average is 6.4 tonnes per year, Power Minister RK Singh said at NDTV's mega G20 conclave. The per capita emissions of the developed world are 3 to 4 times the global average, he said. "If you want to limit the global rise in temperature to 1.5 degrees or less, then the per capita consumption has to come down to 2.4 tonnes. The developed world has to reduce its per capita consumption from 18-20 tonnes to 2.4 tonnes.
