IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore March Into Playoffs With 6-Run Win Over PBKS

IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore qualified for the playoffs with a six-run win over Punjab Kings in match 48 of the Indian Premier League 2021 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli decided to bat after winning the toss against Punjab Kings at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.

RCB openers Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal started positively as they added 67 runs in the first 9 overs against PBKS.

RCB lost Virat Kohli, Daniel Christian and Devdutt Padikkal in quick succession to Moises Henriques as PBKS roared back in the match.

PBKS's Moises Henriques jolted RCB with regular wickets but the batting side fought back through Glenn Maxwell's superb half-century to post 164/7 after 20 overs.

PBKS openers KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal started well in pursuit of the 165-run target, adding 49 runs in the powerplay.

PBKS skipper KL Rahul fell for 39 runs in the 11th over to Shahbaz Ahmed as RCB got a foot in the door while defending the 165-run target.

Yuzvendra Chahal turned the game on its head for RCB with two wickets in an over as PBKS lost their way, losing three quick wickets in the middle overs.

Harshal Patel defended 19 runs in the last over as RCB secured a place in the playoffs.
