As the fifth largest economy in the world, India is on the way to becoming one of the top three economies by 2030. However, with this growth comes the responsibility to ensure that it is sustainable and beneficial not just for the present but for future generations. The India Sustainability Mission (ISM), launched by NDTV, is a six-week campaign aimed at sparking essential conversations around sustainability. This mission aligns with India's commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2070 and stresses the importance of promoting sustainable practices and eco-consciousness.

Key Events:
What are the changes we are experiencing at the global level due to climate change?
Climate change is affecting us in more ways than one can imagine. Wildfires, heatwaves, glaciers melting and unexpected flooding have triggered the debate on global warming. Not only that, but the situation has brought health agencies and global bodies under one umbrella to brainstorm and find solutions to cope with the situation.
As per the World Health Organisation (WHO), climate change is expected to cause approximately 2.5 lakh “additional deaths per year between 2030 and 2050, from undernutrition, malaria, diarrhoea and heat stress alone.”
Heatwave: The intense heatwave has been a cause of concern for people around the world. With the Sun showing no sign of mercury, the brutal heat was unbearable.
Melting Glacier/Snow: The adverse effects of ice melting are known to all. It leads to a rise in water levels, which is worrisome.
Wildfire: There has been a sharp increase in the frequency of wildfires. Recently, Greece and Turkey suffered the consequences of mankind as local authorities and firefighters were battling round the clock to control the situation. The dense fire has destroyed dozens of homes.
