Remember the fisherman who helped women climb onto a rescue boat in nearly waist-deep water by letting them step on his back in flood-hit Kerala? Jaisal KP was hailed as a hero after a video showing his selfless act at a village in Mallapuram went viral. With Jaisal KP's help, two elderly women and a young mother with her baby safely got inside an inflatable rescue boat. Appreciating his heroic efforts, a Mahindra vehicles' dealer in Kozhikode gifted Jaisal KP a brand new car.
Pictures posted on Twitter show Jaisal KP receiving the gift from TP Ramakrishnan, Excise and Labour Minister of Kerala.

The 32-year-old won a lot of love on social media for his act. Now Twitter is also praising the decision to reward Jaisal KP.
"Good always comes back," says one Twitter user. "Heroic action worthy of the reward," says another. "It is an awesome decision!" says a third.

Sideek Ahmed, the Chairman and Managing Director of Eram Motors, posted this on Twitter:
In August, Kerala was ravaged by the worst floods in a century. Hundreds were killed and lakhs have been displaced in the state. During the rescue operations, scores of fishermen, not unlike Jaisal KP, emerged as the unsung heroes who volunteered to help people.
