How To Adopt A Silai School

USHA started ‘Adopt a Silai School’ initiative in 2015-2016 for providing an opportunity to individual donors, residing in any country, believing in the cause of socio-economic empowerment of rural Indian women. Under this initiative, a donor contributes an amount of money for helping one rural woman set her own USHA Silai School. On donor’s behalf, a woman is mobilised, shortlisted and skilled for seven days on sewing and stitching. After successful completion of training, beneficiary is certified and provided with an USHA sewing machine, a course booklet, sewing machine service recall manual and a signage. She is expected to open her own Silai School and train other women of her village. So far more than 70 schools have been adopted under this initiative.
