Since 1976, NEEPCO (North Eastern Electric Power Corporation) has been supplying power in the north east of India. Under its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) policy, NEEPCO is now trying to light up the lives of women from low-income families. Rekhamoni Bora, a 45-year-old resident of a village is in Dibrugarh district of Assam, who is the only bread earner of the family of five members, is among the beneficiaries under the NEEPCO-USHA partnership.
