WEF Congress Centre In Davos Evacuated Due To Fire Scare: Details Inside

Small fire incident took place in Davos, triggering emergency action.

The ongoing World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos was rocked by an emergency on Wednesday night after a small fire in the Congress Centre triggered Emergency response services, eventually leading authorities to evacuate the people in the building.

Local fire services, which were called into action in the wake of this incident, said the operation was carried out smoothly and the evacuations were made as a precaution.

Various other measures were taken, including specialised smoke-response teams after a fire that was believed to have broken out in a wooden hut near the conference centre. The exact cause of the incident, though, has not been disclosed.

As per media reports, the fire incident did not impact any of the top leaders attending the conference, including United States President Donald Trump, whose hour-long speech was one of the key highlights of this WEF.

After his speech, Trump also met NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, notably announcing progress on a long-term framework deal related to Greenland.
