"Will Become More Affordable": Kartikey Hariyani On Future Of EVs
The cost of EV batteries has come down by half, which is making EVs more competitive. While batteries remain a significant cost, the reduction in prices and technological advancements in components like motors and controllers are helping bring down overall costs. As India pushes towards energy transition, EVs will become more affordable.

"Fast Charging Is Critical For EV adoption", Says Kartikey Hariyani
Fast charging is critical for EV adoption, especially for cars, buses, and trucks. The good news is that we have over 450 fast charging locations across 22 states and 30,000 km of electrified highways in India. Fast charging is especially important for intercity travel, and while it may not be a profitable investment for cars alone, buses and trucks are driving demand, said Kartikey Hariyani

Kartikey Hariyani On Concerns People Have About EVs In India
"One major concern is the impact of road conditions, high temperatures, and stop-and-go traffic on battery life. Air conditioning use adds stress on the battery, and the cost of an EV is largely tied to the battery. However, most Indian consumers drive less than 15 km a day, so for many, an EV makes sense. The total cost of ownership is becoming more attractive as battery costs have decreased by half," said Kartikey Hariyani.

Kartikey Hariyani On Realistic Network Of Charging Points For EVs
Charging infrastructure is the number one enabler or deterrent when deciding whether to buy an EV. India's market has different segments-two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers. Two-wheelers mostly charge at home or work, while three-wheelers and four-wheelers will rely on commercial recharging infrastructure. The industry has been investing in this for six years, and today we have localized chargers for both three-wheelers and four-wheelers, said Kartikey Hariyani Founder & CEO, of ChargeZone & BILLIONe at NDTV World Summit

S Jaishankar On Canada Situation
"There's a general western issue and to some extent a very specific Canada issue. The world order after 1945 was heavily western and after 1990s it was also very very western. In the last 20 years, there has been a rebalancing, many non-western countries have been very influential. The equation between non-west and west is changing. And, it's not easy to adjust.

"Many more large countries like India or China have points of views, and there will confrontations and it will not be so smooth," he added

"I would say there's some history. In the 1980s, Air India plane flying out of Canada was blown up. Developments in the politics went in a different direction. Canada asked us to subject our High Commissioner to police inquiry and we chose to withdraw him. The license that they give themselves is totally different from the restrictions put on the diplomats," he explained the escalating row with Canada.

"India Is Moving Ahead With A Forward Looking Approach": PM Modi
"In the last 10 years, 12 crore toilets have been built, and 16 crore homes have gas connections... is it enough? My answer is no. This is not enough," said PM Modi.

Talking about India's vision, he said, "There's a tradition that every government compares its work with the previous government. We used to walk this path but from now on we can't compare the past and present and be happy with it. The metric of success from now on would be 'What we want to achieve' - India has a forward looking approach. A vision for developed India by 2047 is a part of the mindset."
