CWG Village better than London Village?

Many find it unbelievable but according to some athletes the Commonwealth Games Village was better than the Olympic Village in London. Sports Minister Ajay Maken tweeted that according to the Indian athletes and coaches in London that he had spoken to, the Commonwealth Games Village in New Delhi was better than the one in Stratford.

According to many athletes who have already checked into the village, the toilet facilities have left a lot to be desired. Apparently 4 to 6 athletes are being forced to use one toilet, forcing some of them to alter their morning schedules.

The London Olympic Village will accommodate up to 16,000 athletes and officials from more than 200 nations.

The Commonwealth Games accommodated up to 7000 athletes and officials from 71 countries.

The CWG Village also had a recreation zone for the athletes.

From 10 different kind of breads to cakes to lamb chops besides Indian delicacies, the CWG dining area was literally a heaven for the foodies. Labels hanging from the roof said 'Western, Asian, Indian, Vegetarian, African, Tandoori, Pizza and Pasta'.

The CWG dining hall drew much praise from all visiting athletes and officials. The gigantic dining area could serve thousands in a day and offered all kinds of world cuisines. Around 1.6 million meals was served at all the venues over 12 days.

The Olympic Village dining hall can serve up to 5000 guests.
