About The Campaign

NDTV in partnership with UBER has launched a sustained campaign 'Roshan Dilli' to try and raise safety standards in India's capital, New Delhi. Our focus is to try and improve lighting in public spaces in the city. Lighting is a key factor in shaping women's perceptions of safety The initiative will provide a platform for all stakeholders to discuss our goal of improving safety standards, to start a conversation about safety of women in the country It will also highlight various interventions and solutions that help to make women safe and put the spotlight on what more can be done. The campaign will accentuate the need for Safety to be a shared responsibility The need for gender sensitization and how law enforcement and civil society through checks and education can try and make women safer We hope you will join us and help make New Delhi a safer city for women.

In every nook and corner of Delhi, you will have CCTV cameras installed. This is being done in active consultation with RWA’s. We have also started a drive to ensure DTC buses have bus marshals.Raghav ChadhaNational Executive Member, Aam Aadmi Party

In Delhi, most areas are not well-lit. Delhi metro in itself is well-lit but when you get out, the areas are poorly-lit. Stricter laws need to be implemented, stricter laws will prevent crimes.RJ GinnieRadio City

Women's safety is a shared responsibility, corporates have a very critical role to play. They need to become an ally and voice which will catalyse change.Prabhjeet SinghDirector - Operations and Head of Cities, Uber India and South Asia

RWA's are not empowered. It is not very easy to work with the government. RWA's are really under-resourced and under-respected within the government. Expecting RWA's to maintain CCTV cameras is asking for too much. First, we need to empower RWA's.Laveesh BhandariEconomist and Author
