ISL: NorthEast United Beat Kerala Blasters 1-0

Playing in front of thunderous crowds at Guwahati, NorthEast United put on a spirited show to beat Sachin Tendulkar-owned Kerala Blasters 1-0 (All images AFP).

In a game that had two world-class international stars - David James (Kerala Blasters) and Joan Capdevila (NorthEast United) - the home side scored a goal in the 45th minute and held on to their slender lead.

It was Spaniard Koke who broke the deadlock in the 45th minute with a well-connected half-volley from just inside the box.

Kerala Blasters upped the ante in the second passage of play but failed to find the back of the net.

Kerala Blasters came agonosingly close to draw level in the 83rd minute but just couldn't score the equaliser and lost 1-0 in the end.
