Cricketing stars of yesteryears Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Syed Kirmani and Roger Binny, who were part of the 1983 World Cup-winning squad, praised their then skipper Kapil Dev, saying that it was him who gave the entire team the confidence and belief that they could win the quadrennial event which eventually began the revolution in Indian cricket. The three discussed their iconic victory at a panel discussion during a summit called The Huddle organised by The Hindu in Bengaluru.
