A woman panchayat member at Thulasenthirapuram - the ancestral village of Kamala Harris - says the leader's election as the US Vice-President has inspired her to aim high in the state and national politics in India. Arulmozhi Suthakar, the panchayat member, now wants to enrol at a university. She also plans to turn Kamala Harris' inauguration day in January into a big festival.
