Dr Mathew Varghese, Head of Orthopaedics, St Stephens Hospital & Public Health Expert said that India did eradicate Polio through vaccination but the crucial difference between the Polio eradication immunisation drive and the current Covid-19 vaccination drive is that we had years to understand Polio and its dynamics which is not the case with Covid. Dr Varghese reiterated that even after two doses of vaccination it is crucial to follow Covid protocols like masking.
