Need To Do Lot More To Overcome Delta Strain, Says Cadila MD

On August 20, India granted emergency use approval to Zydus Cadila's Covid vaccine ZyCoV-D, meant for children aged 12 years and above. The vaccine is needle-free and is to be administered intradermally in three doses with a gap of 4 weeks between each dose. Zydus Cadila has said ZyCoV-D is effective against the new coronavirus mutants, especially the Delta variant. In an interview to NDTV, Sharvil Patel, MD of Cadila Healthcare, says, "ZyCoV-D is a safe vaccine, but we all still need to do a lot more work to overcome the 'delta' variant in mild cases."
