A preliminary study involving healthcare workers at the Max group of hospitals in Delhi and Gurugram and led by scientists at the CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology found that a little over 25% of the fully vaccinated healthcare workers contracted a fresh or 'breakthrough' infection. But none of nearly 600 vaccine recipients reportedly required hospitalisation. We look at the study and analyse what it means for future variants and vaccines.
