Asked if the EV ecosystem in India here to stay or is it a hype, Hariyani said: "If you are driving your Lamborgini or Ferrari to office everyday, every car will look like a toy car. 80% of our energy needs are still imported- be it coal, crude oil. When we talk about electric mobility- there are two components - vehicle and the fuel. When we look at the fuel part, electricity is produced from various sources in India. We are a nation where we are blessed by solar gods and wind gods; we shouldn't be holding ourselves back from creating more sources/alternatives of electricity for this (EV) market."
