Ishaan Khatter opened up about his film Homebound being India's official entry to Oscars 2026. He said, "This is a film that is extremely special to me, and at the risk of sounding shameless, I'm thankful and grateful to everyone who has championed it. It's a rare kind of film, very humane, I'm very proud of it."

"It's been surreal, been a milestone to be sitting in an audience like that at Cannes - it's overwhelming, understandably; time was warped for me; it was all very surreal. It is deeply rooted in India and I'm very proud of it. All the accolades aside, proud to be a champion of this film," he added.
