The countdown to the biggest festival in the world’s largest democracy has started and everyone is prepping for the 2024 national elections. India's future is its youth. It is critical for the youth of India to participate in elections that will shape the future of India.

To support that goal, NDTV launches the #NDTV18KaVote campaign to make youth aware of the need to vote. Our aim is to encourage voters aged 18 to show their strength in the 18th Lok Sabha polls.

Some two crore first-time voters aged 18 to 19 are likely to vote in these elections – the highest in the world. First-timers must remember - every vote is precious. Consider this - in the 2008 Rajasthan election, Congress’s chief ministerial candidate CP Joshi lost by one vote. So, vote and contribute to the development of the nation. दुनिया की सबसे ज़्यादा आबादी वाले देश भारत में लोकतंत्र के त्योहार की उलटी गिनती शुरू हो चुकी है. देश में BJP-कांग्रेस समेत सभी छोटी-बड़ी राजनीतिक पार्टियां लोकसभा चुनाव 2024 की तैयारियों में जुटी हैं. देश का भविष्य कहे जाने वाले युवा मतदाताओं के लिए लोकसभा चुनाव में भाग लेना अहम है, क्योंकि ये युवा ही देश के भविष्य को आकार देंगे.

NDTV इसी कड़ी में देश के युवाओं को वोट देने की ज़रूरत के बारे में जागरूक करने के लिए #NDTV18KaVote कैम्पेन शुरू कर रहा है. इस कैम्पेन से हमारा मकसद 18 साल की उम्र के ज़्यादा से ज़्यादा मतदाताओं को 18वें लोकसभा चुनाव में वोट करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करना है.

इस बार लोकसभा चुनाव में 18 से 19 साल की उम्र के करीब 2 करोड़ मतदाताओं के पहली बार मताधिकार का इस्तेमाल करने की संभावना है. यह संख्या दूसरे देशों के युवा मतदाताओं में सबसे ज़्यादा है. पहली बार वोट करने वालों को याद रखना चाहिए कि लोकतंत्र के लिए हर वोट कीमती होता है. 2008 के राजस्थान चुनाव में कांग्रेस के मुख्यमंत्री पद के उम्मीदवार सी.पी. जोशी महज़ एक वोट से हार गए थे, इसलिए युवा मतदाताओं से अपील है कि वे वोट ज़रूर करें और देश के विकास में योगदान दें.
