BJP Huddle In UP Today To Review By-Election Preps After Big Poll Setback

Top BJP leaders in Uttar Pradesh will meet this morning to review preparations for the upcoming by-elections to 10 assembly seats, the first polls in the state after a sharp drop in the ruling party's tally in the recent Lok Sabha election.

Four top leaders have resigned from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Maharashtra's Pimpri Chinchwad, dealing a major blow to the party led by Ajit Pawar after a poor show in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

Veteran Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Tuesday filed a petition in the Madhya Pradesh High Court alleging irregularities in the Lok Sabha elections in Rajgarh, where he lost to BJP's Rodmal Nagar by a margin of 1,46,089 votes.
