The invitation was renewed by Singh when he and Obama met during a brief 'pull-aside' at the G-8+G-5 Summit here on Thursday.
Obama, on his part, invited Singh for a bilateral visit to the US which was accepted by the Indian leader.
"There is an invitation for him (Singh) to go. There is also an invitation to President Obama to come to India. Both have been accepted," Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon told reporters.
