If you are lucky, then on a clear day, this 30-minute ride will have you peering out over the Colonial District, CBD (Central Business District), Marina Bay, the high-rise housing sprawl to the east and out to the ship-clogged South China Sea.
It is a major tourist attraction and one of the most visited landmarks in Singapore. Two Merlion statues are located at the bay. The word is a combination of 'Mer' which means the sea and 'lion'. The park is spread out in over 2,500 square meters and the seven feet tall, Merlion cub fountain is the centerpiece of this park.
