Myanmar, here comes team #GLAadventure! This is the last country for the team to explore before they bring the Great Overland Adventure Mercs home.

On #GLAadventure's itinerary is to explore the iconic Friendship Bridge, Taukkyan War Cemetery, Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay Hill, U-Bein Bridge, Monywa and the world famous place - The Bodhi Tataung Standing Buddha.

#GLAadventure at the iconic friendship bridge: This is the bridge which connects the Asian Highway between Thailand and Myanmar and is located at Tambon Tha Sai Luad, opposite a town called Myawadi in Myanmar. This is where team #GLAadventure switches lane too, as Myanmar is a left hand drive country.

Meet #GLAadventure's friend from the border: He is the Crime Reporter, that too with a uniform! That is how it is Myanmar, all crime reporters have an uniform.

Calling all road trippers! Driving on an Asian Highway 1 should be on your bucket list. Spectacular countryside views galore!

Asian Highway 1, is the longest route of the Asian Highway Network, running 20,557 km from from Tokyo, Japan via Korea, China, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran to the border between Turkey and Bulgaria west of Istanbul where it joins end-on with European route E80.

Myanmar, a country of Iron Bridges: This is one of the many bridges which team #GLAadventure crossed.

#GLAadventure in Yangon: First stop for team #GLAadventure is world famous temple - Shwedagon Pagoda. Yangon's skyline is ruled by the 'winking wonder' of Shwedagon Pagoda, a dazzling Buddhist temple that attracts pilgrims from all over the world.

It's a 2,500 years old temple and this place enshrines strands of Buddha's hair and other holy relics. What's interesting is that this is one of Buddhism's most sacred sites and is adorned with some 27 metric tons of gold leaf, along with thousands of diamonds and other gems.

The Golden Pagoda is the perfect place for all the photographers! The majestic beauty of this temple is captured perfectly by team #GLAadventure.

When in Yangon, do try out the ?Elephant Coach Ride.'

Next stop in Myanmar - The Taukkyan War Cemetery in the town of Taukkyan. This place is a memorial of 27,000 soldiers, sailors and airmen who died in battle in Burma, during the Second World War.

A tribute to bravery: Thousands of lives lost so that ?we' can live in peace now. The graves have been grouped together at Taukkyan to preserve the individuality of these battlefield cemeteries and burials, some of which have have been transferred here from civil and cantonment cemeteries.

Next stop for #GLAadventure was Naypyidaw; the isolated capital of Myanmar. It is the most deserted city! There is a safari park, a zoo complete with air-conditioned penguin habitat, and some four golf courses. Bonus points for free Wi-Fi in many of the restaurants. But what this place lacks is people!

This is Myanmar's Version Of Rajpath - #GLAadventure in front of the Myanmar Parliament House. It is here the famous 20 lanes highway starts - the roads stretches on as far as the eye can see, literally! According to the grapevine, these magnificent boulevards were built to enable aircrafts to land on, in the event of anti-government protests or other disturbances.

Bagan is a must visit place in Myanmar. It is one of the world's greatest Archeological sites and is home to the largest and densest concentration of Buddhist temples, pagodas, stupas.

Don't miss the Irrawaddy River cruise. This is country's largest river and has shaped Burma's history. It is the country's economic lifeblood and is simply inseparable from Burmese spiritual life.

There is a reason why Bagan is called the ?Valley of temples.' Ancient chronicles suggest that there were once 4446 temples scattered across its wide plains but today only around 2200 remain.

Scaling the Mandalay Hill - The commercial hub of Myanmar - Mandalay is named after this 240 metres (790 ft) high hill that is located to the northeast of the city centre.

This is Myanmar's most photographed sites - U-Bein Bridge. It is also one of world's longest teak footbridge which gently curves 1300 yards across the shallow Taungthaman Lake.

#GLAadventure's recommendation: The Gurudwara in Monywa is quite special, as it was established by the Indian Army in 1885 and is still functional.

A picture is worth a thousand words - We bet this will make you pack your bags and visit Maha Bodhi Tahtaung place right away! This is a famous Buddhist monastery located in Monywa Township and is well-known for the Giant Standing Buddha statue, which is the second largest in the world.
