Bumrah claimed the wickets of Usman Khawaja (57), Travis Head (0) and Mitchell Marsh (4).
Notably, Bumrah has become the first Indian bowler to dismiss Head for a duck in international cricket.
On the day, Bumrah also surpassed Anil Kumble's record of most Test wickets at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
With the tally of 18, Bumrah is now the lone Indian bowler with the most Test wickets at MCG.
