Quirky Things You Spot When Travelling Around The World

The good thing about travelling is you get to see some extra-ordinary sights and gain some unforgettable memories in the process.

Here are some unique, out-of-the-box things that #GLAadventure spotted during its road trip around the world.

Quirky Thing #1: Bodega Padua Bar In Barcelona
Any cafe is as good as its food and drinks, right? Not this place in Barcelona. Here you are as good as your car! This is the place where a group of local Seat Seiscento (600) owners always meet with their cute little historically significant cars.

Quirky Thing #2: All Things Royal At The Royal Carriage Museum in Vienna, Austria
Royalty at its best! It is here where you will see a collection of carriages which is used by the imperial family. What's great is that these are the first luxury cars in the world. Isn't this fascinating?

Quirky Thing #3: Luxembourg Border Crossing
Just in case you are travelling to Luxembourg and have a non-Luxembourg number plate then you will have to go through a very detailed procedure at the border. Your cars will have to go through these huge scanners.

#GLAadventure did the same while entering this new country in Europe though the border police was friendly and quiet fascinated to hear about this unique global drive.

Quirky Thing #4: An abandoned Race-Track in Morano Sul Po
This race-track was abandoned in the late 60s after hosting only 3 years of active racing action. You will get to see the beautiful countryside and whatever is left of the track. What caught our attention was the version that locals shared with us. They seem to think that this place is haunted!

Quirky Thing #5: Marrakesh in Morocco
This is the only place where one can find 25 year old W123 Mercedes taxis that run on OM616 diesel engines. Isn't this just fascinating?

Quirky Thing #6: Taroudant in Morocco
Sugar rush! This is how much sugar the Moroccans put in a small pot of tea, no we aren't joking.

Quirky Thing #7: Tagine in Morocco
The famous African dish is actually named after the conical clay pot where the meat, veggies, and sometimes dry fruits, are piled in together and then slow cooked over a coal fire.

Food tip: The slower it is cooked, the better the flavours and the meal!

Quirky Thing #8: Las Vegas in Nevada
When at Las Vegas you will spot these funky and retro looking gas stations! It's a thing worth capturing.

Quirky Thing #9: Sloth Sanctuary in Puerto Viejo
Parking can be a pain anywhere in the world. But it can also be fun, as these quirky parking sign boards prove! You will find these at the Sloth Sanctuary in Puerto Viejo.

This place basically strives towards improvement in sloth research and conservation and is being run by one big family.

Quirky Thing #10: Costa Rica In Central America
Apart from the beautiful skyline and tall buildings, Costa Rica will also surprise you with how most of the buildings here are decorated from the outside.

#Quirky Thing 11: In Glendambo, Australia
During its drive through the Australian Outback, #GLAadventure made pit stop at Glendambo, a small town in South Australia, which is on the Stuart Highway and is 254 kilometres away from Coober Pedy and 592 kilometres away from Adelaide South Australia. This is a haven for flies and this signage on Stuart Highway tells you why!

Quirky Thing #12: Australian Outback
No we aren't joking! This is what you get when travelling around the Australian Outback - It's a thing for real.
