How To Make Kerala Pepper Paneer Fry | Paneer Fry Recipe

  1. Start by marinating the paneer cubes with crushed black pepper, Kashmiri red chilli powder, turmeric, salt, lemon juice and a little oil. Mix gently so the cubes stay intact, then let the mixture rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat ghee or oil in a pan and add the marinated paneer. Shallow-fry on medium-high heat until the edges turn golden, then remove and set aside.
  3. In another pan, heat ghee or oil and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chillies, garlic cloves, ginger, sliced onions and tomatoes (if using).
  4. Saute everything until the onions soften and turn golden brown.
  5. Add crushed pepper, coriander powder, fennel powder and a little salt. Cook for 30-40 seconds to release the flavours.
  6. Add the fried paneer back into the pan and toss well. Finish with extra curry leaves, a drizzle of ghee and more crushed pepper.
  7. Cook on high heat for a minute, then serve hot and enjoy!
